Opening Dates

The museum will now be closed to the general public until after Easter, but if you would like to make arrangements for a special date before then, please let us know and we will be happy to oblige. We will be open for at least one day each month until Christmas - why not check back later to find the dates?

The last open day of 2011 was our Christmas special and we had a large and interested number of people visit us - more than ever before. Although it was a cold day, the welcome in the museum with mulled wine and mince pies was very much warmer.

The 2010 Christmas open day was held on the 11 December and saw a steady stream of visitors coming in to have a chat and see the exhibits. It was particularly good to see some of the younger children in and checking what grandmother (or even great grandmother) shopped for and used in her everyday life.

The previous open day was another wet and windy day - this time a Sunday. Maybe it was because of the weather but many visitors stayed in the museum a long time and had interesting chats with us - a good opportunity and one not to be missed.

The open days of 2009 had many interested vistors and some very generous folk brought some new exhibits for display. Thank you very much for these kind acts.

The 2009 Christmas open day saw several visitors from the local area, many of whom enjoyed a warming glass of mulled wine which, in part, made up for the cold weather during the day.

During the year visitors took part in the discussions and memories that were re-kindled as a result of the everyday items on display.

As The Shop Museum at Wrentham is run on a free admission basis, it is open to the public only on selected, advertised dates, but please contact us if you would like to have a look inside - we can always make special arrangements!

We are always happy to open up on other days by special arrangement, so please contact us to arrange something - e.g. individual visits, a group or club outing or meeting. You will be made most welcome.
